Expense paperwork

Receipts that log themselves.

Your team photographs a receipt and emails it to one address. Spine reads it, checks it against your policy and logs it. Nobody types it in.

How it works

Snap it, send it, done.

Email it

Each employee photographs the receipt and sends it to one address. No app to install, no form to fill.

Spine reads and checks it

It reads the receipt, works out who sent it, applies your policy and logs the expense. Then it replies to confirm what it logged.

Ask for the report

Ask for an expense report by employee, or how much someone spent on meals this week, and get the answer in the same chat box.

What it catches

It flags what a careful person would.

When Spine is not sure, it says so and hands the receipt to a person. It never fills in a number it made up.

  • Duplicates get flagged instead of logged twice.
  • An unreadable receipt goes to a person with the image attached.
  • Your policy is applied, for example backing alcohol out of a meal along with its share of tax and tip.
  • The sender gets a reply confirming what was logged.
  • A reimbursement waits for a person to say yes before it posts to QuickBooks.

By hand today

  • Paper receipts collected at the end of the month.
  • Someone types each one in.
  • Missing and duplicate receipts found late, if at all.
  • The expense report is built by hand.

With Spine

  • Receipts emailed the moment they are paid.
  • Read, checked and logged as they arrive.
  • Duplicates and unreadable receipts flagged right away.
  • The report is one question away.

Receipt intake runs today for the employees of a real estate company. It is one module: the same chat box answers questions across the rest of the business, and each later need becomes another module. How it works
